The Bobby Scheme

Back to Support

The Bobby Scheme is a registered charity supporting victims of crime who are over 60, disabled and vulnerable. The charity gives expert advice on securing your home and staying safe. They install high quality, effective devices around the home.

The name “Bobby Scheme” reflects the two organisations that were instrumental in its creation: and the Office of the High Sheriff. The scheme was established in 2001 by the Cambridgeshire Police Shrievalty Trust.

The Bobby Scheme works to reduce crime and the fear of crime, helping people feel safer and more confident in their own homes. By installing appropriate security devices and alarms, the charity supports victims of burglary and other crimes, as well as those concerned about their home or personal security.

Through this practical and preventative approach, The Bobby Scheme helps improve quality of life, increase independence, and strengthen safety and reassurance within local communities.

The service, which is run by a highly experienced police-vetted and DBS-checked team, is free to victims over 60 and to ALL suffering domestic violence.
