Community Roadwatch(UK) CIC

Back to Activities

An unpaid volunteer led, not-for-profit donation-funded Community Interest Company incorporated in March 2016 to help people and organisations quantify & identify concerns about traffic volumes and speeds and where speeding is prevalent to advise ways of countering it.

This activity is good for wellbeing because

It helps to protect communities, especially the young, families and the vulnerable on or along a 20/30/40 mph road..

By reducing speeds it directly affects the nuisance, concerns, damage, trauma, health of those exposed to noise, vibration and pollution.

Ir reduces local pollution by moderating most vehicle speeds.

They hold 1hr sessions parked off road legally and take speed readings of vehicles either off pre-installed and calibrated Speed Indicating Devices or the discrete use of radar speed guns.

They also provide informative presentations to community groups to provide them details of what they provide and why and what they could possibly do for themselves to make their community roads a safer place for all.

They do not charge for our labour or for the use of their specialist expensive equipment such as £100 Speed guns, £3k Speed Indicating Devices (SIDs) or £3k Traffic loggers.
