The Coneygear Community Garden is a welcoming outdoor space located within Coneygear Park, open for everyone to enjoy at any time. The garden provides a peaceful place to connect with nature, take part in gardening activities, and spend time with others in a relaxed setting.
This activity is good for wellbeing because
- Supports mental wellbeing by providing access to nature, fresh air, and a calming outdoor environment.
- Encourages physical activity through light gardening and outdoor movement at a comfortable pace.
- Builds community connection by bringing people together to grow, share produce, and socialise.

What to expect
The community garden can be visited freely at any time and includes shared fruit and vegetables available for the community, along with pleasant seating areas for relaxation.
Led gardening sessions take place every other Tuesday from 10:00am to 11:30am. These sessions run at the same time as the Community Café, and volunteers often visit the café afterwards for refreshments and conversation, offering a friendly opportunity to continue socialising.
No booking is required to visit the garden, and everyone is welcome whether they wish to take part in gardening or simply enjoy the space.
More information
The venue is fully accessible and includes a hearing aid loop, a disabled toilet and a Changing Places toilet. Mobility scooter users are welcome; however, if a scooter is particularly large, a wheelchair is available on site to assist individuals once their scooter has been parked.

Attending the garden is free
