Equilibrium Yoga and Therapy Centre in Huntingdon offers accessible yoga for all levels, from complete beginners onwards. Their approach supports physical and emotional wellbeing, body awareness and a deeper connection with yourself.
This activity is good for wellbeing because
- Yoga encourages people to move their bodies with greater awareness, helping to develop strength, mobility, balance and coordination. It can also help people feel more connected to their bodies and more confident in moving in ways that feel supportive and appropriate for them.
- Yoga creates time to slow down, breathe and pay attention to how you are feeling. This can help reduce stress, support relaxation and give people practical ways to find greater calm and steadiness in everyday life.
- Attending a regular class can create a sense of connection and belonging. Practising alongside others in a welcoming environment offers an opportunity to meet people, become part of a community and develop a regular routine that supports wellbeing.
“I have been going to the beginner class with my mum and in just four weeks we’ve both seen such a big difference. My mum is moving better and is more supple. I have been sleeping so much better. The teacher is patient, really friendly and more than happy to accommodate if you are struggling with a move.”

What to expect
The yoga classes offer a welcoming and supportive space to move, breathe and reconnect with your body. Sessions include yoga postures and movement, breathing practices and periods of relaxation, with clear guidance from an experienced teacher throughout.
If you are completely new to yoga, they recommend starting with one of the 6-week beginners courses. No previous experience, particular level of fitness or flexibility is needed. The course introduces yoga gradually over six weeks, helping you become familiar with the basic postures, breathing and alignment while building confidence at your own pace.
Classes need to be booked in advance, either online here https://www.equilibriumyoga.co.uk/yoga-classes.html, or through their booking system. When you arrive for the first time, your teacher will welcome you and help you get settled.
They understand that coming to a new class or unfamiliar environment can feel daunting. If you are feeling nervous or have questions about whether a class is right for you, you are very welcome to contact them beforehand.
The beginners classes are 60 minutes long. Other classes in their programme vary in length. Attendees are encouraged to stay for the whole session where possible, particularly for the final relaxation, but you are always free to leave if you need to.
Once you have completed the beginners course, there is a wide range of regular classes available if you would like to continue with them.
