Grief Cafe - Brampton

Back to Activities

The Grief Café is a space where you can connect with others who have experienced loss and enjoy informal, supportive conversations about grief, coping, and emotional wellbeing.

This activity is good for wellbeing because

  • Sharing experiences in a safe, non-judgemental space helps reduce feelings of isolation
  • Talking openly about grief can reduce anxiety and stigma
  • Provides peer support as well as volunteers from services connected to them such as GPS, H&W coach, Grief Councillor's etc

"I didn’t think I’d be comfortable sharing so I went along just to listen. I liked the mix of advice from the speakers first, then the coffee break with informal chat when I felt I could open up a little about my loss. "

Below is a short video on how to access the hub from the car park

What to expect

It is a relaxed, welcoming space where you can talk openly about your experiences of grief and loss without judgement. The sessions are informal and supportive, offering the opportunity to share, listen, or simply sit quietly with others who understand. There is no pressure to speak, and everyone is encouraged to take part in a way that feels right for them.

The café is based around gentle conversation, practical information, and peer support rather than counselling or therapy. There may also be talks by guest speakers on topics related to grief, loss, and wellbeing.

You may leave feeling reassured, less alone, and more supported, with a greater understanding of grief and the support available to you. The focus is on connection, compassion, and normalising conversations around grief in a safe, community setting.

For people 18+ (not suitable for children) and you are welcome to bring a friend/carer etc with you. It is a two hour cafe with free drinks and cakes/pastries available to purchase. A warm welcome always greets you and it can be arranged to meet you outside if that helps.
