Health Walks

Back to Activities

Huntingdonshire Health Walks are led by friendly, specially trained leaders who provide encouragement and support, and make sure no one gets left behind. The walks are over various difficulties of terrain – walks are available for all abilities.

This activity is good for wellbeing because

  • Walking is a good way to start getting active;
  • It is a group activity and a great way to meet new people;
  • Getting outside and exploring your local area is energising.

‘Walking has always been there for me, my confidence has grown immensely. I’m a totally different person now than I was ten years ago and I owe so much of that to walking.’

They encourage pre-booking before attending a walk. You can book via the One Leisure website, the One Leisure App or by phoning 01480 388111. Bookings can be made up to 7 days in advance.

Dogs are welcome on all walks except for the:

  • Great Fen and Great Fen Dragonfly walks in Ramsey
  • Brampton Wood walk

  • Buckden Village walk and
  • Paxton Pits walk during June and July.

Huntingdonshire Health Walks scheme invites walkers to make a voluntary donation to support the running and continuation of the scheme – but this is optional.
