What to expect
This one acre kitchen garden from a bygone age was completely overgrown when it was rediscovered in 1996. It has been lovingly revived by dedicated volunteers and was officially opened in 2010.
It now features many aspects of gardening with an attractive Victorian style glasshouse, apple tunnel, fruit and vegetable beds and a herb garden, along with colourful flowing borders that showcase dainty Salvia and spectacular Dahlia beds, all of which continue to be maintained by volunteers. Interpretation boards relate the history of the garden, which is also an beautiful venue for organised courses, group bookings or special occasions.

Volunteering
Support is needed in many ways to help care for this beautiful but large garden. Even just an hour can make a difference. It's not all about digging! From welcoming visitors to watering plants, tying back tomatoes, planting borders, or doing a little weeding, there’s something for everyone. Whether someone is an experienced gardener or simply curious to give it a try, there are plenty of opportunities to get involved and be part of something special.
