The 12-week Adult Weight Management Programme is a great way to improve your fitness and lose weight alongside other people with the same goals.

The weekly sessions last for 90 minutes – made up of a 45 minute nutrition workshop run by a registered Nutritionist and a 45 minute physical activity session run by a Physical Activity Specialist. The activity is always tailored around the needs and abilities of those in the group.

Clinics run in locations across Cambridgeshire, and there are daytime and evening options available. You can find your nearest clinic on the Healthy You website.

If attending sessions in-person doesn’t work for you, you can attend virtual clinics online. There is also an option to receive pre-recorded nutrition and physical activity sessions via email, to access in your own time.

Eligibility

You can access the Adult Weight Management service if you are aged 16 or over, live in Cambridgeshire & Peterborough and have a BMI of 25 or above. (Or a BMI of 23 or above if you have South Asian, Chinese, other Asian, Middle Eastern, Black African or African-Caribbean family background).

There is a BMI calculator on the Healthy You website – you just need to enter your height and weight.

This service is free. Find out more and arrange a chat by calling, emailing or texting Healthy You.

Other options

If the Healthy You 12-week programme isn’t for you, you may be eligible for a 12-week referral to Slimming World or Weight Watchers as an alternative.

There are higher-level Healthy You services available for people aged 18+ who have a BMI or 40 or above (or a BMI of 30 or above, with complex needs or co-morbidities). These services require a referral from a health care professional. Contact Healthy You for more information about these options.
