English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) Classes in Hunts

Several places in Huntingdonshire offer free or low cost ESOL classes (English for Speakers of Other Languages). These range from formal taught courses to informal spaces where you can drop in to practise some conversation with other learners over a cup of coffee.

Cambridge Regional College
Cambridge Regional College offers a course called ‘ESOL Skills for Life’ for those aged 19 and over. This is a 9-month course which covers speaking, reading and writing skills. There are classes available from beginners to advanced level. The course is fully funded (free) for learners who earn below a certain threshold. The College also offers an ESOL Study Programme for learners aged between 16 and 18 years. Cambridgeshire Skills

Cambridgeshire Skills offer various ESOL courses, from pre-Entry through various levels, and ESOL for employability. These are taught in person at various venues, and are free or have a cost depending on the course and your eligibility. You will need to apply to have an assessment. WEA
WEA (The Workers' Educational Association) run various English courses for speakers of other languages, at different levels. Funding is available to cover the cost of these courses for those who meet certain criteria. Visit this page on the WEA website and click 'search options' to find courses in your area. There are also online courses available.

North Cambridgeshire Training Centre

In a small and friendly class, you will have fun working on grammar and vocabulary skills, role play, and speaking and listening for everyday situations. You will have homework to do on your own during the week. You will work towards a Gateway Certificate of Reading and Writing in the first half of the year and Speaking and Listening in the second half of the year.
