NCT Birth, Feeding and You

Back to Support

NCT Birth, Feeding and You provides community infant feeding and emotional wellbeing peer support across Peterborough & Cambridgeshire. It is jointly commissioned by Peterborough City Council and Cambridgeshire County Council.

What to expect

NCT have Chill & Chat groups, which are relaxed “stay and play” groups with toys for babies and toddlers and a chance for you to have a hot drink and meet other local families.

You do not have to have a specific support need to attend these groups, but if you do want support with infant feeding or your wellbeing there will always be a friendly, non-judgemental, trained peer supporter available.

The peer supporters are trained by NCT and accredited by the Open College Network. Peer supporters can listen, offer support and information, and signpost to other services where relevant.

If you would like some one-to-one support, you can contact them via their Facebook page, call or email them – see the How to Contact section.

Volunteering opportunities are available with this project, if you are interested in training to be a peer supporter please contact them for a chat.

More information

Parking varies by venue but there is either free parking at the venue or free on-street parking nearby.

Pram/pushchair “parking” varies by venue, but the volunteers will be happy to help you with this. If your baby is sleeping you can bring them into the group room in their pram.

Toilets, including baby change and accessible toilets are available at the venues.

NCT know it can be daunting attending a new group, if you would like to have a chat with a peer supporter before attending please message their Facebook page or email them.

All the groups and support are free.

NCT run face-to-face groups (Chill & Chat), a weekly online group (please message their Facebook page or email them for the link)
