Practical Support

The Cinnamon Trust is the only specialist national charity which seeks to relieve the anxieties, problems, and sometimes injustices, faced by elderly and terminally ill people and their pets.

Their volunteers may be able to support with:

  • practical help when any aspect of day-to-day care poses a problem – for example, walking the dog for a housebound owner
  • national fostering service for pets whose owners face a spell in hospital
  • help to find pet-friendly care home. Click here.
  • long term care for pets whose owners have died or moved to residential accommodation which will not accept pets.

Call The Cinnamon Trust on 01736 757 900.

The Cinnamon Trust is often looking for volunteers.

Blue Cross for Pets can support with pet bereavement or pet loss. If you are grieving for a pet, or facing loss, their free and confidential Pet Bereavement Support Service (PBSS) is here for you by phone, email or webchat.

Call on 0800 096 6606.  Between 8.30am and 8.30pm every day. Due to the nature of the helpline and to keep your call confidential, they are unable to call you and cannot see your phone number if you call them.

Their webchat service is staffed by trained Pet Bereavement Support Service volunteers from 8.30am to 8.30pm, every day. Follow the link on their website by clicking here.
