Back to Activities

The Coneygear Centre offers a range of welcoming community activities designed to support wellbeing, learning, and social connection for people of all ages.

This activity is good for wellbeing because

  • it helps reduce loneliness and strengthen community connections through regular opportunities to meet, talk, and take part in shared activities;
  • it supports mental and emotional wellbeing by offering safe, welcoming spaces for learning, creativity, relaxation, and social interaction;
  • it encourages healthy and active lifestyles through access to outdoor gardening, structured sessions, and positive daily routines.

"The Coneygear centre is my go to place not only for the groups and cafe, which are a lifeline when needing a space away from home to socialise and gather oneself but also the usage of the Internet Suite and the availability of the workers there. Currently I am doing a course that is remote, through Huntingdon college campus and I would have struggled to complete it, due to my computer breaking. Being in the centre not only gives me a place to study and develop myself as a person but also is a great comfort for myself as a single parent with two children. Even the outside such as the herb garden is a place me and my children go to explore and learn about food and nature, a way to be together, be grateful and have peace.  I am and will be forever grateful for the haven that they provide"

What to expect

The Coneygear Centre hosts a variety of regular activities throughout the week, including a community café, library services, homework support for young people, and access to the community garden located within Coneygear Park.

Visitors can enjoy drop-in café sessions with low-cost refreshments, use the library and digital suite, or attend structured activities such as Homework Club, Storytime for under-5s, and led gardening sessions. The community garden offers opportunities to enjoy nature and share locally grown produce.

Some sessions are drop-in, while others may require initial registration or parental attendance for younger participants. Across all activities, the focus is on creating a welcoming, supportive environment where people can take part at their own pace — whether to learn, socialise, volunteer, or simply enjoy being part of the community.
